Who are we?

The Network of African Women with Disabilities (NAWWD) was created in July 2005 with the support of the Africa Disability Alliance (ADA). Based in Zimbabwe, it is comprising of 23 countries representing the East, West, Central and North African regions. Women and girl's with disabilities will benefit from the inclusion, in the ADP and the MDL, of some of the rights outlined in the AU Decade of Women. From 2014 to 2016, the Network implemented successfully the project: Strengthening capacity of networks of women with disabilities in humanitarian action. This has demonstrated the capacity of the NAWWD to advocate on disability inclusive humanitarian issues at continental and international level.
