Who are we?
- The African Union of the Blind (AUB) is a Union for African blind and partially sighted persons with legal mechanisms that progressively enable them to enjoy equal rights, social inclusion and full participation in development through the enforcement of the ADP and the MDL The needs of African blind and partially sighted persons articulated/included in the ADP and MDL using improved/ strengthened capacity of AFUB, its constituencies and alliance partners at regional/national levels. The African Union of the Blind (AFUB) is an umbrella organisation of 60-member organisations for blind and partially sighted persons in 53 African countries. We are one of the most active regions of the World Blind Union (WBU), and enjoy observer status with the African Union under then OAU Resolution CM/Res.944 (XL). AFUB is registered as an International Non-governmental organisation in Kenya, where it enjoys semi-consulate status.
